" In 1666, Ioannes Dr. Marci sent from Prague the manuscript VM to Kircher
in Rome, together with the letter, which is also preserved. In the letter, 
Marci urged Kircher to try to solve the manuscript's mystery.

Whether Kircher ever tried to solve the manuscript, we have no proof. Let's
try to consider what could Kircher do with it and why the manuscript laid
almost 250 years, nobody had any interest in it and the owners seemed pleased
they could sell it to Voynich. "
